Mid-Beach is about to get a new dose of fire-and-flame theater. Chef José Andrés and his culinary group will open Bazaar Meat, an open-fire steakhouse, inside the Andaz Miami Beach Resort and Spa at 4041 Collins Avenue on October 22. The restaurant will be overseen by Bazaar’s culinary director, Miami-based chef Manuel "Manny" Echeverri.
Bazaar Meat is built around large cuts of beef cooked over open flames in full view of the dining room, paired with farm-fresh vegetables, modern riffs on Spanish tapas, and a Cubano sandwich that nods to the neighborhood’s Cuban-American roots. It’s a concept Andrés has already built a following for at locations in Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C., each known for showcases like Ibérico ham, wagyu, foie gras, and caviar.
The opening is also something of a homecoming. Andrés’ original Bazaar restaurant operated at SLS South Beach from 2012 until it closed in 2023, becoming one of the era’s defining South Beach dining destinations. Bazaar Meat’s arrival at the Andaz gives the brand a new home base just a few minutes up the coast, and rounds out the hotel’s dining lineup alongside Aguasal and Bar Centro, both already run by the José Andrés Group since the 287-room Andaz Miami Beach opened in May 2025.
For Miami Beach’s hospitality and tourism economy, a high-profile chef opening a flagship restaurant is more than a dinner reservation story. Marquee openings like this one tend to draw press, food tourism, and foot traffic that ripples out to nearby bars, valet and service staff, and the small vendors who supply hotels and restaurants along Collins Avenue — the kind of spillover that matters heading into South Florida’s busy winter season.
The full Bazaar Meat Miami Beach menu hadn’t been released as of this writing, but the concept’s track record elsewhere suggests a steakhouse built for both special occasions and steady local business.
